On Sunday, November 7, 2010, over 150 motorcycle riders cranked up their bikes in participation of the 3rd Annual Crankin' It for HospiceCare. Donations where raised from the event's riders and sponsors, including Rue & Ziffra, P.A., to help support the Florida Hospital HospiceCare fund.
To participate in the run, riders had to make an initial donation of $15 per person or $20 for two riders. Riders could also bid money in a silent auction and poker tournament, which helped to raise this years proceeds of over $11,000.
The run consisted of five stops total, with all participants ending at the White Eagle Lounge. Here, they enjoyed live music from the Chris Hyatt Band and plenty of bar-b-que.
All proceeds raised from the run will be used to care for residents of Volusia and Flagler Counties unable to cover the cost of end-of-life care. HospiceCare provides services to those in need in their own homes, assisted and skilled nursing facilities or at inpatient units.
