Volusia Law Firm Helps Sponsor Four Events This Weekend

Several members of the Port Orange-based law firm of Rue & Ziffra P.A. will be really busy this weekend; but you won’t find them anywhere near the court house.

Instead, many of them will be walking for charity, handing out water to thirsty cyclists, and serving up food to hungry festivalgoers as the firm helps put on everything from an overnight relay in Port Orange to a Rock-N-Rib Festival in Palm Coast.

“I’ve very proud of our staff and their willingness and commitment to our communities,” firm President Allan Ziffra said. “We never have a shortage of volunteers when it comes to helping out good causes.”

The weekend’s events kick off at 5:30 p.m. Friday with the start of The Port Orange Relay for Life, an annual 18-hour relay race and other activities that raise funds and awareness for the American Cancer Society. Details: www.relayforlife.org/portorangefl.

The firm also will help sponsor the annual Rock-N-Rib Festival from noon to 9 p.m. Saturday at Central Park in Town Center, Palm Coast. Highlighted by music from numerous local bands – including rock legends “Starship,” the event also will offer fireworks, carnival rides, swimming and racing pigs, and of course, lots of barbecued foods. Tickets are $15 in advance and $25 at the gate. Details: http://www.palmcoastribfest.com.

Also on Saturday, Rue & Ziffra will be a co-presenter for the weekly Green Market from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Port Orange Pavilion. Visit the firm’s tent and enter for a chance to win a seven-night Royal Caribbean cruise.

On Sunday, Rue & Ziffra is also sponsoring the 8th annual Cycle Flagler, a scenic bicycle ride along State Road A1A that raises money for the Flagler Beach Rotary Club. Tickets for the ride – which can be completed in increments of 24, 40, 62 or 100 miles – are $30 each and include a T-shirt, goodie bag, picnic and rest stops. Details: 386-846-5493 or www.cycleflagler.org.
